I found an empty bag tonight from a company called "Denise Snacks"....
She's now on my YouTube channel...
Keep searching YouTube for "the name (any common female name)" and you should find that channel. The channel is that big...

Perhaps not the best example for this forum, but saw this company name on a truck this morning...

Iiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttt's FABULOUS *FRED*!
Tonight I was on another social networking site other than LJ... Don't tell 'dwell' :-D
Anyway, someone was talking about an 80's electronic game called 'Fabulous Fred', so I Googled.. Apparently is a similar concept to The Merlin: A device with a human name and a handful of preprogrammed 'competes with human' games...

You can find all sorts of stuff on Google. Especially when LiveJournal users mention her first :-) (Sounds like a guy I know is a project author)
Incidentally, this is the second "Amanda" thing I've heard about which pertains to 'backing things up'...
Of course, six months ago I knew two girls named Amanda and both of them failed, so it's probably a good idea to have as many backups as possible...

Apparently there was a UK company that made peripherals for Sinclair computers called "Sandy".
Would have been sexier if "Sandra".
I get it though... "Sand" as in "Silicon"?

There is a university library in Sweden were the public access catalog (the computer interface to what books a library has and data about them) is named "JULIA".
Reportedly, this is a big trend for libraries to give their OPACs human names...
Here's where read I read about this:http://ask.metafilter.com/86978/From-whence-Gulliver
(There are many other human named things mentioned on that link as well)

Human named products that don't even exist yet...
If you could recommend a human first name to marketeers not currently used for a product, what name you would like to see used for something?
or a related question is...
What name already used for a product would you like to see used for other product genres? Are there particular genres you think this name would be particularly nice for?

Places with female names...
I think is great that there's an Amelia Island in New York :-)
I'd also like to swim in Laura Lake (closer to where I am) :-)

"It's" pronounced "Andrayah"!
... if you're the former-presiding officer of the university 'PCU', or spelled "AndrAIa" if you are starring in the Canadian cartoon show "Reboot!"

... is not just For Computers anymore :-D
If you search the Business and Industrial section on eBay right now for 'Lisa', you will find two autoclaves (Lab equipment) where the company name is -Lisa-.
One has a rather attractive control panel, and the other, if I recall, has a really big LCD display... On the second one, I would loooove to see her startup-sequence... I'm not expecting a lot in the 'personification' realm since the RITA and HELENA medical devices don't leverage this (that I know of), but you -never know- :-D

Page update: Mona
I added a picture to the Mona truck post (currently on the second journal page)
Most people probably don't care about every one of these little 'updated a page' posts, but you never know when someone has a sister named Mona, Julie, etc...
Anyway, perhaps we can set the Mona truck up with the Blaine truck :-D
(I mean, I would loooovvvveee to get a picture of them parked next to each other :-D ... Some lady [as everyone's packing up their trucks for the evening] goes "Thanks guys... I only call contracting companies with human names" :-D)

Thinking of Pruning Some of My Posts
My Last post is a pretty good example of what this forum is for...
In hindsight I think some of my other ones 'target the mark' 'a little less well' than others... Maybe some of these will get deleted or moved to 'sexynamesnwords' or someplace else.
I guess I'll make a comment under this post saying which of mine I'm thinking of deleting and people can reply if they really want them to stay, want to be told where they get moved to if they do, or if they simply know of a better journal to host them under...
This forum is a great concept, but isn't going to work too well if I keep listing things and saying stuff like "Well dangit, this -SHOULD be- a human name!" :-D
Apparently there's a city or town too by this name by the look of this(?)

Can someone help with this?
There's this manufactures called Carpigiani (coffee machines?) - I've heard inklings that they made a product branded "Maria".
No luck finding this... I think is a UK thing... LJ is international... anyone seen this out there?
There's Something About Laila
Sorry about the bad pictures, but I've always loved this tube...( Maura Her...Collapse )
It's always amusing when a human name is trademarked :-) On this one looks like a 'TM', but the one I'm holding now looks like an '(R)'.
Anyway text from back of the 'HAND AND BODY CREAM' with me now starts off with:
"Laila's Hand & Body Cream formula is enriched with Vitamins A & E, Aloe Vera*, Honey Extract and scented with Laila's :-) pure and natural fragrance."
*human name alert (kidding)
"Apply daily to hands and entire body ..."
but at the end they drop the 's.
"Laila Hand & Body Cream created in Norway"...
So seems is a company name as Distributed by Laila Incorporated ! How can I get to be incorporated? :-D
And they actually were able to get:
There's a company who sells business services whose name is a household word.
To use many of these (extremely overpriced) services, you must 'logga in' :-D using a little device which measures like 4x5x8 inches in size(?) which has a little two line LCD display...
Every single one of these I have -ever seen- shows, among other cryptic text, the name "Gina".
So I did what any self-respecting namophile would do... I shot a picture of this and put this up on my website...
I -kid you not-, the company got so incredibly *PARANOID* that I repeatedly started seeing their IP addresses in my weblogs...
I simply took the image down. I have better things to do with my time than fight with a multi-godzillion-dollar company over a four letter name that frankly I don't even really like :-D
ok... this may be stretching it, but this has to be some girl's name, and if not, -should be-...( Maura Her...Collapse )
The same company I believe makes something called 'Princess Livia'... I love!

Stella and Bob
Did you know the Atari 2600 (all the kids are going 'what are those?', LOL) was originally called -STELLA- (Look this up :-D) ... Could just be Latin For 'star', but -still- :-)
Oh, and in the 80's, a company called Androbot used to make 'BOB', a personal home robot... This was of course justified down to 'Brains on Board'. He's a -robot-, I should -hope so- :-D
